Ignorant and Offensive customer service
I am based in the UK and ordered wine from this company. Their prices include VAT but they omitted to write this on their customs forms so my shipment was held in UK customs awaiting VAT payment. Viitaly refused to pay for VAT themselves or reimburse me for the VAT I had paid in Italy. They didn't even acknowledge that they had made a mistake. When I said I was going to refuse the shipment as now the wine was costing me unacceptable amounts they sent me a letter from their lawyer saying that if I refused the shipment they would charge me for shipping costs back to Italy plus italian customs!

Hi Odette first of all we thank you for having purchased at our e-shop, and for having reviewed us. But I would like to clarify some things, those that have been charged to you as expenses are nothing more than the customs clearance charges, if they have been charged to you, as you incur undue VAT costs, we are ready to return them, as long as we provide attesting documentation. I also want to clarify that we have never given a mandate to any lawyer for this practice. Thanks Viitaly.com
